Pioneers Drop Tight Contest to NDSCS to Open MonDak Conference Action

Pioneers 1... NDSCS Wildcats 3 (24-26, 25-22, 26-28, 24-26)

The MCC Pioneer volleyball team kicked off MonDak Conference action on Tuesday night in Wahpeton, ND. The Pioneers had game point in all 4 of the games played but the NDSCS Wildcats fended off those game points in 3 of the games and held on to defeat the Pioneers 3-1 in a tightly contested match that could have gone either way.

Taiya Guptill (Freshman - Hardin, MT) dished out 40 assists in the match and the majority of those assists went to Kayla Jensen (Sophomore - Lewistown, MT) with 13 kills and Zeason Schaffer (Sophomore - Broadus, MT) with 10 kills. Cameron Blevins (Sophomores - Shelby, MT) had 23 digs and 2 service aces. Grace Gackle (Sophomore - Circle, MT) had 6 blocks and Johanna Limberhand blocked 5 Wildcat kill attempts. 

The Pioneers are now 7-5 overall and 0-1 in MonDak Conference action. They will end their 4-match road trip on Wednesday night in Devils Lake, ND against the Lake Region State College Royals at 6:00 PM MDT.
