Sophomore night at the MCC Centra for Pioneer volleyballers didn't go the way the team would have liked as Bismarck State came in and took command early in 3-0 sweep of the Pioneers. The Mystics took control early in set one enroute to a 13-25 victory. The Pioneers fought back in set 2 leading most of the way but couldn't hang on as the Mystics squeaked out a 22-25 victory. The 3rd set was much like the 1st as BSC established control early and cruised to a 12-25 win.
Defensively for the Pioneers, Sophomore Matilda Dietz led the team in digs with 15 and Syndey Johnstone had 1.5 blocks. On the offensive side of things Nadja Gale (Sheridan, WY) had 9 kills and Jacey Rowland had 26 assists and 1 ace.
This was the final home game for Dietz, Kadyn Acor, Abigail Dudley, Olivia Easton, and Celsa Castro. The Pioneers start Region XIII Playoffs on Friday night as they travel to Glendive to face Dawson in the first round. Match time is set for 7:00 PM.
