The MCC Pioneer Volleyball Team started out hot Saturday afternoon with thoughts of upsetting the MonDak Conference leading NDSCS Wildcats. The Pioneers led set 1 22-19 before the Wildcats rattled off the next 6 points to win 25-22 and gather all the momentum for the rest of the match. Set 2 went to the Wildcats 14-25 and then NDSCS finished things off with a 16-25 win in set 3. NDSCS moved to 14-1 on the season and 14-0 in MonDak Conference play.
The Pioneers fell to 7-8 in MonDak Conference play and 9-11 overall. For the match on Saturday, the defensive leaders for the Pioneers were Matilda Dietz (Manhattan, MT) with 16 digs and Kadyn Acor (Havre, MT) with 2 blocks. Celsa Castro (Roundup, MT) had 17 assists, Angela Youngs (Gillette, WY) had 11 kills, and Sydney Johnstone (Miles City, MT) served up 1 ace for the match.
The Pioneers will travel to Glendive on Monday night for a match at 7:00 PM vs. Dawson.
