Pioneer Volleyball Defeats Williston In 4

The Miles Community College Volleyball team bounced back from a 5-set loss at home to Bottineau on Saturday afternoon with an impressive 4-set victory over Williston State at home on Tuesday night. The Pioneers got off to a fast start and dominated game 1 by a score of 25-11. Things took a major turn in game 2 as Williston rallied back to take a 19-25 win and evened up the match at 1-1. 

Miles rallied from an early deficit in the 3rd set and found a way to take a 2-1 lead with a 25-17 win in game 3. The Pioneers finished it off by dominating game 4 25-19 to take the match 3-1. The two teams will go at it again on Wednesday night in Williston at 6:00 PM MST. 

Leading the way for the Pioneers in the victory was Matilda Dietz (Manhattan, MT) with 19 digs and Olivia Easton (Billings, MT) with 10 kills. Mandi Tvedt (Glenrock, WY) served up 4 aces, Kadyn Acor led MCC with 2.5 blocks, and Celsa Castro (Roundup, MT) distributed 19 assists. 

The Pioneers moved to 3-1 in MonDak Conference play and 3-4 overall.
