Huge 3rd Quarter Propels Bismarck State Past Pioneer Women

The MCC Pioneers stood toe to toe with league leading Bismarck State on Monday night in Miles City, MT. Then, the 3rd quarter hit. The Pioneers trailed Bismarck State 32-28 at the halftime break and by the time the game hit the 4th quarter the Mystics had stretched that lead to 61-35 on the strength of a 29-7 spurt during the quarter. 

The Mystics shot 9-22 in the 3rd quarter including a 6-12 effort from the 3-point line and 5-8 from the free throw line. In contrast, MCC shot 3-14 from the field and 0-5 at the 3-point line. 

Harys Beauchamp (Sophomore - Beulah, ND) led the Mystic offense with 19 points (6-14 FG, 0-5 3's, 7-8 FT) and was backed up by four 3-point field goals and 12 points (4-13 FG, 4-11 3's) from Brynnlee Murdock (Sophomore - Herriman, UT). 

The Pioneers, who led by 5 points early in the 1st quarter, were led by Lainey Smith (Sophomore - Miles City, MT) with 15 points (6-14 FG, 2-7 3's, 1-2 FT) and 5 rebounds. Isabella Gurie (Sophomore -Columbus, MT) tallied 8 points and 8 rebounds.
