Rebekah Dallinger (Syndey, Australia) and Jana Conejero (Malaga, Spain) got their Pioneer careers off on the right foot as they combined for 55 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists as the Pioneers pulled away 81-60 in their long awaited season opener at Bismarck State. Dallinger connected on 10-15 FG (5-6 3's) and 4-6 free throws to go with 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Conejero was 9-13 6-7 3's) from the field.
After a back and forth first quarter that saw the Pioneers leading 14-11, Conejero went on an 8 point run of her own as the Pioneers took a commanding 37-26 lead in to the break. The lead extended to as many as 24 points early in the 4th quarter and the outcome was never in doubt. Sophomore Lili Long (Melbourne, Australia) chipped in 17 points as well for the Pioneers. MCC shot 50% from the field and from the 3-point line for the game. .
