Lady Pioneers Win 4th Straight

The Lady Pioneers set a new season high for points on Saturday afternoon with an 85-66 win over United Tribes Technical College.

Sophomores Claire Borot (Martinique, France) and Binta Salawu (Sydney, Australia) combined for 49 of the Pioneers 85 points in a game that saw the Pioneers jump out to an early 13-0 lead, and lead by as many as 22 in the 4th Quarter.  Borot had her first double double of the season, scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds.  Salawu led all scorers with 29 points, with 13 of thos points coming from the free throw line.

The afternoon was a foulfest as the two teams combined to shoot 85 free throws, with the Lady Pioneers shooting a season high 32/47 from the free throw line.  UTTC outrebounded the Pioneers 47-41 but UTTC had 25 turnovers and MCC had 14.

Next up for the Lady Pioneers is a trip to Gillette College on Wednesday November 20, with a tip off set for 5:30pm.  They return home Saturday November 23 where the #23 ranked Casper College Thunderbirds come to town. That game has been moved to 5:00 PM and was originally scheduled for 1:00 PM but was moved for the CCDHS State Championship football game.
