Game 1 - Pioneers 8... Lake Region State 0 (5 Innings)

Rylynn Krein (Fergus Falls, MN) tossed a 5 inning 1-hitter and drove in 3 at the plate as the Pioneers shut down Lake Region State 8-0 in Miles City, MT on Saturday afternoon. 

Krein struck out 9 and walked only 1 batter tossing only 66 pitches. She also was 2-4 (2B, 3 RBI) at the plate. 

The Pioneers scored at least one run in every inning. In the 1st inning, Malory Webb (SS - Idaho Falls, ID) walked, stole 2nd, and scored on a Krein RBI double. 

MCC scored another in the 2nd inning after a Sydney Goldbar (2B - Missoula, MT) single and Adrie Mortensen (C - Rexburg, ID) walk, Webb slapped a RBI single to centerfield. 

The 3rd inning saw the Pioneers build the lead to 5-0. With one out, Brooke Schaffer (3B - Missoula, MT) singled, moved to 2nd on a passed ball, and then to 3rd on a ground out. With 2 outs, Paityn Ralphs (1B - Ammon, ID) cracked a RBI single and scored on a Goldbar double. Goldbar then scored on a single off the bat of Emily Robins (CF - Rexburg, ID). 

In the 4th inning, Webb walked, stole 2nd and 3rd, and then scored on a sacrifice fly from Krein. The Pioneers walked off the Royals with 2 runs in the 5th inning. Ralphs led off with a single and Goldbar was hit by a pitch. Robins singled to drive in Ralphs and Mortensen walked. With 2 outs, Krein singled to the gap in right field to score Goldbar and end game 1. 

Krein, Schaffer, Ralphs, Goldbar, and Robins each had 2 hits. Robins had 2 RBI.

Game 2 - Pioneers 15... Lake Region State 7 (6 Innings)

13 different Pioneer batters collected base hits and MCC got 4 RBI each from Rylynn Krein and Sydney Goldbar in a 15-7 victory in game 2. 

Lake Region got their 1st run of the day in the top of the 1st inning but MCC quickly built a 8-1 lead scoring 4 runs in the 1st and 2nd innings. Malory Webb and Emily Robins drew walks to start the 1st inning. With 2 outs, Goldbar smacked a 3-run home run. Addison Sanders (3B - Idaho Falls, ID) singled and scored on a single from Brylee Lowell (LF - Columbus, MT). 

The 2nd inning began with a Rhanda Vindiola (RF - Columbus, MT) walk and back to back singles from Webb and Robins to load the bases. Krein smacked a double that cleared the bases. Sydney Goldbar picked up her 4th RBI with a single. 

Lake Region then scored 5 runs in the 3rd inning and another in the 4th to cut the gap to 8-7. MCC then exploded for 6 runs in the 5th inning. Ava Lund (C - Belgrade, MT) led the inning off with a solo home run. Webb singled, stole 2nd, and moved to 3rd on a Royal error. With 2 outs, Krein singled to score Webb. Paityn Ralphs and Tori McClelland (2B - Red Deer, Alberta) singled to load the bases. Brooke Schaffer cracked a 3 RBI double and that was followed by a Lowell RBI single. 

MCC walked off the Royals in the 6th inning. Brooklyn Ostermiller (Huntley, MT) doubled and Madison Moorman (Laurel, MT) singled to put runners on the corners. Kayla Jensen (Lewistown, MT) hit a RBI single to end the contest. 

Harley Brown (Great Falls, MT) started the game in the circle and pitched 2.2 innings (5 H, 6 R, 4 ER, 4 BB, SO) and Jensen pitched the final 3.1 innings (R, 2 BB, 4 SO).
