Pioneers 19... Lake Region State 0 (5 Innings)

Adrie Mortensen (C - Rexburg, ID) hit 2 home runs in 2 at bats while driving in 6 runs and Rylynn Krein (Fergus Falls, MN) tossed a 2-hitter as the Pioneers trounced Lake Region State 19-0 to move in to the undefeated semifinal game of the Region XIII Playoffs.

The Pioneers jumped on the Royals right away by scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. Malory Webb (SS - Idaho Falls, ID) led the game off with a single and Arin Eaton (CF - Belgrade, MT) was hit by a pitch. Both runners stole the next base and were driving in by a 2 RBI single from Krein. Then, with the bases empty and 2 outs, Addison Sanders (3B - Idaho Falls, ID) knocked a single and Dalilah Hernandez (2B - Laurel, MT) walked. Khloey Robinson singled to load the bases and Mortensen walked to drive in a run. Brylee Lowell (RF - Columbus, MT) then walked to drive in the final run of the inning.

MCC took a 10-0 lead in the 2nd inning after plating 6 more runs. Eaton led the inning off with a single and scored after Krein singled and the LRSC centerfielder made an error. Krein advanced to 3rd on a groundout. Krein then scored on a Sanders single. Hernandez followed that with a RBI double and Robinson singled to drive in Hernandez and Mortensen followed that with her first home run of the game that was a 2-run shot. 

The Pioneers piled it on in the 3rd inning with 9 more runs including 2 home runs. Eaton led the inning off with a single and Krein blasted a 2 - run home run. Brooke Richardson (1B) reached base on an error and Sanders singled to put runners on 1st and 2nd. Hernandez picked up her 2nd double of the game to drive in Richardson. Robinson had another RBI single and Mortensen hit her 2nd home run that was a 3-run blast. Lowell reached base on an error and advanced to 2nd on a groundout. Eaton connected for a RBI single. Rian Ferriter (Butte, MT) drove in the final Pioneer run of the game. 

Krein was 4-4 (HR, 3 R, 4 RBI), Eaton was 3-3 (4 R, RBI), and Sanders was 3-3 (RBI, 3 R). Robinson was (3-3, 2 RBI, 2 R), Mortensen 2-2 (2 HR, 6 RBI), and Hernandez was 2-2 (2 RBI, 3 Runs). 

Krein pitched 5 innings (2 H, 3 BB, 5 SO) to get the win.
