Game 1 - Pioneers 26... Dakota College at Bottineau 1 (5 Innings)

The Pioneers scored multiple runs in all 5 innings including a 13 run outburst in the 2nd inning as MCC rolled to a 26-1 victory Friday afternoon in Miles City. 

MCC struck for 4 runs in the 1st inning before the massive 2nd inning. The Pioneers got 4 more in the 3rd, 3 in the 4th, and finished it off with 2 runs in the 5th inning. 

Rylynn Krein (DP - Fergus Falls, MN) was 4-4 (HR, 2 2B, 5 RBI, 4 R) at the plate and Rhanda Vindiola (LF - Columbus, MT) was 4-5 (2B, 4 RBI, R) to lead the Pioneers in hits. The Belgrade, Montana collection of Arin Eaton (CF) and Khloey Robinson  (C) each had 3 hits. Eaton was 3-4 (HR, 3 RBI, 3 R) and Robinson was 3-3 (3B, 4 RBI, 3 R). 

Malory Webb (SS - Idaho Falls, ID) had 2 hits and scored 3 runs. Dalilah Hernandez (Laurel, MT) had 2 hits including a home run and 3 RBI. 

Brooke Richardson (1B - Helena, MT), Addison Sanders (3B - Idaho Falls, ID), Sierra Tuss (2B - Belgrade, MT), and Jordyn Epp (RF - Cold Lake, Alberta) each had one hit. Sanders hit was a home run. 

Rian Ferriter (Butte, MT) started in the circle and pitched a solid 5 innings (3 H, R, 6 SO) to pick up the win.

  • The Pioneers had 23 hits (4 HR, 6 2B, 3B) and DCB had 3 hits.
  • The Lumberjacks had the only 3 errors in the game. 
  • MCC had 5 stolen bases and DCB had 1.
  • Pioneer batters did not strike out and walked 5 times. 
  • Lumberjack batters struck out 6 times and did not walk.

Game 2 - Pioneers 23... Dakota College at Bottineau 0 (5 innings)

Much like game 1, the Pioneers scored in every inning and this time had a 15 run outburst in the 2nd inning. MCC got 1 run in the 1st inning, 4 in the 3rd, 2 in the 4th, and a final run in the 5th. Pioneer pitcher Rylie Schlepp tossed a one-hitter and struck out 10 in a dominating performance. 

Dalilah Hernandez had a 3-3 effort at the plate and scored 5 runs while Adrie Mortensen (C - Rexburg, ID) was 3-4 (HR, 2 2B, 4 RBI, 3 R) to lead the way for the Pioneers. Lily Bolin (1B - Belgrade, MT) was 2-4 (2B, 2 RBI, 3 R) and Tori McClelland (2B - Red Deer, Alberta) was 2-3 (2B, 3 R, 3 RBI). Ella Anderson (RF - Miles City, MT), Madison Moorman (LF - Laurel, MT), Rian Ferriter, and Viannca Martin (CF - Billings, MT) each had one hit. Martin connected on a 3-run home run. 

Schlepp (Helena, MT) pitched 5 innings (H, 10 SO) to pick up her 2nd win in 2 days.

  • MCC had 2 errors and DCB had 3.
  • Pioneer batters struck out only once and had 8 walks.
  • MCC had 2 stolen bases and DCB had 1.

The Pioneers move to 8-0 in MonDak Conference play and are 20-8 overall. Next up for MCC is a trip to Glendive on Wednesday, April 2 for a doubleheader with Dawson CC at 1:00 and 3:30 PM.
