Game 1 - Pioneers 1 ... Pima 10
Pima pitcher Arianna Flores shut down the MCC Pioneer bats on Friday in Arizona. Flores struck out 10 batters and gave up only 4 hits as Pima Community College defeated Miles CC 10-1 in 5 innings.
Pima scored 2 in the 2nd inning and 4 in each the 3rd and 5th inning to stop the Pioneer winning streak at 3 games.
The lone bright spot for the Pioneers was in the 4th inning as Brooke Richardson (1B - Helena, MT) singled and moved to 2nd on a passed ball and reached 3rd on a ground out. Richardson then scored on a RBI single from Addison Sanders (3B - Idaho Falls, ID).
Rylynn Krein (Fergus Falls, MN) got the start for MCC and pitched 4.1 innings (11 H, 10 R, 7 ER, BB) and took the loss.

Game 2 - Pioneers 8 ... Pima 11
Miles scored 3 runs in the top of the 1st inning and was looking to spring an upset on nationally ranked Pima College in game 2 on Friday. Pima showed its strength, however; and the Aztecs scored 5 runs in the 2nd and then 4 in the 5th inning to defeat the Pioneers 11-8.
Malory Webb (SS - Idaho Falls, ID) led the game off with a walk and was sacrificed to 2B by Arin Eaton (CF - Belgrade, MT). With 2 outs, Brooke Richardson walked and Daliliah Hernandez (2B - Laurel, MT) hit a line drive RBI double that scored Webb and pushed Richardson to 3rd base. Addison Sanders (3B - Idaho Falls, ID) connected on a 2 RBI single to put the Pioneers in front 3-0.
Pima got a run in the bottom of the 1st and then 5 in the 2nd for a 6-3 lead. They stretched the lead to 7-3 with a run in the 3rd and then the Pioneers made it 7-4 in the top of the 5th inning on a RBI singe from Richardson.
It looked like Pima put the game on ice in the bottom of the 5th inning as they scored 4 times to go ahead 11-4. MCC made things very interesting in the 6th inning as the Pioneers loaded the bases on singles by Sanders, Megan Brownson (C - Billings, MT), and Webb before Eaton hit a grand slam home run to cut the lead to the final deficit of 11-8.
Eaton finished the game 2-3 with 4 RBI and Sanders had 2 hits and 2 RBI.
Rian Ferriter (Butte, MT) got the start and pitched 2.1 innings (9 H, 7 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, SO) and Rylie Schlepp (Helena, MT) took over for the next 2.2 innings (3 H, 4 R, 3 BB, SO). Eaton finished the final inning (H, 2 SO).
