Game 1 - Pioneers 5 ... Mesa CC 6
Wednesday got off to a fast start for both Miles Community College and Mesa Community college on the softball diamond.
The Pioneers kicked the game off with 3 runs in the top of the 1st inning. Malory Webb (SS - Idaho Falls, ID) led the game off with a single. Brooke Richardson (1B - Helena, MT) drew a 1 out walk. Webb was forced out at 3rd on a fielders choice by Dalilah Hernandez (2B - Laurel, MT) and the Pioneers had 2 outs. Addison Sanders (3B - Idaho Falls, ID) singled to load up the bases. Khloey Robinson (LF - Belgrade, MT) ripped a 2 RBI single to drive in Richardson and Hernandez. Paityn Ralphs (DP - Ammon, ID) singled to drive in Sanders for a 3-0 lead.
Mesa quickly answered with 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st on a 2 RBI double. Mesa then tied the game in the bottom of the 3rd with a run, but the Pioneers answered quickly with a run in the top of the 4th. Adrie Mortensen (C - Rexburg, ID) led off the inning with a double and was sacrificed to 3rd base by Brylee Lowell (RF - Columbus, MT). Mortensen scored on a sacrifice fly RBI off of the bat of Webb.
Mesa scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning on a couple of Pioneer errors to take a 6-4 lead. The Pioneers scored a run in the top of the 7th to cut the lead to 6-5 and had a runner on 1st that they could not push home to force the game to continue.
Webb had 3 hits in the game and Richardson had 2. Robinson had 2 RBI.
Rylynn Krein (Fergus Falls, MN) pitched 6 innings (5 H, 6 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 7 SO) in the loss.

Game 2 - Pioneers 14 ... Mesa CC 2 (5 Innings)
The Pioneers had revenge on mind after falling short in game 1 and raced out to a 11-0 lead thru 3 innings and put Mesa Community College away with 3 runs in the top of the 5th to split Wednesday's doubleheader 14-2 Wednesday in Tucson, AZ.
MCC pounded out 16 hits and got 3 hits from Ella Anderson (RF - Miles City, MT), Megan Brownson (C - Billings, MT), and Rylynn Krein. Malory Webb and Lily Bolin (1B - Belgrade, MT) each had 2 hits.
MCC got 2 runs in the top of the 1st inning after Webb reached on an error and was driven in by a Arin Eaton (CF - Belgrade, MT) double. Krein then singled and to put runners on 1st and 3rd for Addison Sanders to push Eaton in on a fielder's choice and MCC led 2-0.
The Pioneers took command with a 5-run 2nd inning. Sierra Tuss (2B - Belgrade, MT) reached 2nd base on a fly ball error to right field. Rhanda Vindiola (LF -Columbus, MT) walked and Anderson got her 1st of 3 hits smacking a double to centerfield to drive in Tuss. Webb followed with a single to score Vidiola and Eaton bunted in to a fielders choice that scored Anderson. Krein grounded out for the 1st out of the inning but Webb scored and MCC led 6-0. Eaton then scored on a ground out from Sanders to end the scoring for inning 2.
Miles put the game away in the 3rd inning with 4 runs. Anderson doubled again and moved to 3rd on a single from Webb. Eaton grounded to a fielders choice but Anderson scored. Krein singled to move Eaton to 2nd. Sanders then pumped a 2 RBI double to centerfield and then Sanders scored on a Brownson RBI single.
Mesa picked up 2 runs in the 4th inning before the Pioneers scored 3 more runs in the 5th. Brownson led the inning off with her 3rd hit of the game and that was followed by back to back walks from Bolin and Tuss to load the bases. Anderson picked up her 3rd hit of the game with a 2-RBI single and moved to 2nd before being driven home by Dalilah Hernandez.
Sanders finished the game with 4 RBI while Anderson and Eaton each had 3.
Rian Ferriter (Butte, MT) pitched all 5 innings (4 H, 2 R, BB, 3 SO).
