Pioneers 6... Madonna University JV 7

The MCC Pioneers dropped their 4th game in the last 5 outings and are now 1-3 in Tucson during their annual spring break trip. Madonna University JV bested the Pioneers 7-6 on Monday for their 2nd win in as many tries against the Pioneers in Tucson. 

The Pioneers took a quick 2-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning after Malory Webb (SS - Idaho Falls, ID) walked and was plated on a RBI double from Khloey Robinson (CF - Belgrade, MT). Dalilah Hernandez (2B - Laurel, MT) then scored on an error. Madonna struck back quickly with a run in the bottom of the 1st. Madonna tied it in the bottom of the 2nd and MCC took a 3-2 lead in the 3rd inning after a Webb single and RBI double from Rylynn Krein (DP - Fergus Falls, MN). 

Madonna then had a game breaking 5-run 3rd inning that gave them a 7-3 lead. The Pioneers cut that lead to 7-6 with 3 runs in the 6th inning highlighted by a 2 RBI single off the bat of Brylee Lowell (LF - Columbus, MT) but the Pioneers could not get over the hump after that play or in the 7th inning. 

Arin Eaton (Belgrade, MT) pitched complete game 6 innings (9 H, 7 R, 6 BB, 7 SO) in the loss.

The Pioneers are now 7-5 on the season and will play a doubleheader on Tuesday agains Marian Ancilla at 9:00 AM and Chandler Gilbert CC at 11:00 AM MST.
