Five Pioneers Earn MonDak All-Conference Honors

Five MCC Pioneer softball players have earned MonDak All-Conference honors as selected by the league coaches. There are 15 players that earned this honor. MCC just completed a 35-8 season that ended in the Region XIII Championship game. The 35 wins are the most in a season since softball was started in 2019. 

Peyton Whitehead (Freshman - Joliet, MT) was a pitcher and recorded an 11-4 record for the season. In 21 appearances, Whitehead had a 3.41 ERA in 92 innings pitched. She struck out 84 batters and walked 43. Whitehead allowed 88 hits and walked 43 batters. 

Sierra John (Sophomore - Idaho Falls, ID) was the Pioneer shortstop. John batted .393 (46-117) on the season with 7 doubles, 7 triples, and 6 home runs. John also had a .952 fielding percentage on 64 attempts. 

Hazel Eaton (Sophomore - Belgrade, MT) pitched and played first base for MCC. Eaton had a team leading .532 (50-94) batting averaged with 8 doubles, triple, and a team high 11 home runs and 49 RBI. This included a .989 slugging %. Eaton had a 6-2 record in the circle with a 6.25 ERA. In 28 innings pitched, Eaton gave up 43 hits, walked 16, and struck out 16. 

Liz Ybarra (Sophomore - Belgrade, MT) was in leftfield for MCC. Ybarra batted .357 (46-129) with 8 doubles and 2 triples. Ybarra had 44 RBI and a fielding percentage of .966. 

Skylar Higgs (Sophomore - Livingston, MT) was in centerfield for the Pioneers. Higgs batted .405 (53-131) that included 11 doubles, 5 triples, and 6 home runs. Higgs had a team high 51 RBI and also had 12 stolen bases. Higgs fielding percentage was .975.
