MSU - Northern Rodeo Results
The MCC Pioneers had multiple successful runs at the MSU Northern Rodeo in Havre, MT last weekend. The women's teams scored 195 points to finish in a season best 3rd place. MSU-Northern was 1st place with 360 points and MSU was 2nd with 285 points. On the men's side, MCC finished in 5th place with 80 points. UM-Western won the event with 750 points.
On the women's side, Josie Menzel (Philip, SD) finished in 4th place for the short go in Goat Tying with a time of 6.5 seconds. She was also 4th in the long go with a time of 7.1. Those times secured her a 4th place finish in the overall with a time of 13.6. Billie Fortier (Wildrose, ND) finished in 4th place of the short go in Breakaway Roping with a time of 2.8 seconds. She tied for 3rd place in the long go at 2.5 seconds for a average time of 5.3, good for 3rd place overall. Macey Freemantle (Kamloops, BC) finished just out of the points in Barrel Racing by coming in 7th place.
On the men's side, Korbin Baldwin (Whitefish, MT) took a 3rd place finished in Bull Riding with a score of 67. That was good enough to give him a 3rd place finish for the average.
The Pioneers will hose the MCC Showdown this weekend at the Ag Advancement Center. Rodeo #1 is Thursday-Friday with performances at 7:00 PM both nights and slack at 9:00 AM. Rodeo #2 will have performances Saturday night at 7:00 and Sunday morning at 10:00 AM with the slack session Saturday morning at 9:00 AM.
