The MCC Pioneer rodeo teams finished off the fall portion of their 2025-26 season last weekend at the UM-Western Rodeo in Dillon, MT.
On the men's side of the rodeo, Weston LaPierre (Killdeer, ND) was the only Pioneer to secure points in the rodeo. LaPierre finished 2nd in the short go for Tie Down Roping with a time of 11.6 seconds. That finish helped him to a 6th place finish in the average with 33.4. That finish gave the Pioneers 60 points in the rodeo for a 4th place finish as a team.
On the women's side, Josie Menzel (Philip, SD) finished in 6th place for Goat Tying in the Long Go and her goat got up on her in the short round costing her a higher finish in the average. Her 6th place in the long go accounted for MCC's 10 points for a 5th place finish as a team.
At the conclusion of the fall season, Menzel sits in 3rd place overall in Goat Tying with 243 points and Clancy Hornberger (Blaisdell, ND) is in 15th place for Breakaway Roping with 69 points. The team sits in 4th place with 312 points.
The men's team is in 5th place overall with 398 points. Jaxon Campbell (Strathmore, Alberta) sits in 2nd place for Bareback Riding with 126 points and Weston LaPierre is currently in 5th place in Tie Down Roping with 262 points.
The 2026 side of the schedule will resume in April.
