Weston LaPierre (Killdeer, ND) made some big waves at the Dawson Community College Rodeo on Friday and Saturday in Glendive, MT.

LaPierre won the Long Go in Tie Down Roping with a time of 10.3 seconds and then finished 2nd in the Short Go with a time of 13.3 seconds to win the overall title by nearly 6 seconds over the closest competitior for the first title of his collegiate career. 

LaPierre was the only Pioneer to score points over the weekend with 180 points to push the Pioneers to a 3rd place finish behind Montana State (1,320) and UM-Western (385).

Ethan Johnson (Hoven, SD - Saddle Bronc Riding) rode well on Friday night but injured his foot and was not able to compete on Saturday. 

No Pioneer women were able to score points over the weekend. 

MCC will take this weekend off before finishing the fall season September 26-27 in Dillon, MT at the UM-Western Rodeo.
