Pioneers 87... Dawson 100
Two eastern Montana NJCAA rivals squared off on Monday night in Miles City and the Dawson Community College Buccaneers held off a late Miles Community College Pioneer rally to stay unbeaten in MonDak Conference play with a 100-87 win at the MCC Centra.
Dawson built a 58-46 halftime lead after the game was tied at 38-38. The 2nd half was much of the same as Dawson created a 19-point lead with 13:00 to play only to see the Pioneers cut the lead to 86-81 with 4:00 to play. Dawson made the plays down the stretch that they needed to make including back to back 3-point baskets after the Pioneers had cut the lead to 5.
Seth Amunrud (6'3 Sophomore - Bozeman, MT) scored 30 points (11-25 FG, 5-13 3's, 3-3 FT) and grabbed 5 rebounds to lead the Dawson charge. He was followed by Justin Asi (6'6 Sophomore - Melbourne, Australia) with 19 points (8-13 FG, 2-6 3's, 1-2 FT) and 6 rebounds.
