Balanced Effort Propels Pioneers to Big Win Over Rocky JV

Pioneers 106... Rocky Mountain College JV 56

 6 Pioneers scored in double figures and 3 of those players recorded double doubles as the Pioneers overwhelmed the Rocky Mountain College JV 106-56 on Saturday in Miles City. The Pioneers got off to a 4-0 lead to start the game but Rocky Mountain went on a quick run to build a 10-point lead with 16 minutes to go in the 1st half. It was all Pioneers from there as the Pioneer defense held Rocky to 25% shooting in the 1st half and took a 46-27 lead to the break.

The 2nd half was all Pioneers as they outscored Rocky 60-29 over the final 20 minutes. 

Randy Otieno (6'6 Freshman - Calgary, Alberta) came off the bench to score 18 points (7-12 FG, 2-5 3's, 2-3 FT) and grab 11 rebounds. Jace Hill (6'1 Freshman - Columbia Falls, MT) scored 16 points (6-8 FG, 1-1 3's, 3-3 FT) and had 10 rebounds, 7 assists, and 5 steals. Azenio Cossa (6'2 Freshman - Maputo, Mozambique) added 16 points (7-13 FG, 2-6 3's) and 11 rebounds. 

Mack Page (6'5 Sophomore - Worland, WY) had 15 points (5-15 FG, 5-5 FT, 0-2 3's) and 8 rebounds while Yohandry Ortiz (6'5 Freshman - Naples, FL) added 14 points (5-10 FG, 2-5 3's, 2-2 FT) and 8 rebounds. Nathan Lubamba (6'5 Sophomore - Kinshasa, Congo) had 14 points (5-7 FG, 0-1 3's, 4-5 FT).
