Trailing 67-60 with 5 minutest to play on Friday night, the MCC Pioneers outscored Northwest College 18-6 down the stretch to snap a 6-game losing skid with a 78-73 non-conference victory in Powell, WY. The Pioneers led 38-37 at halftime in a back and forth contest that saw 9 ties and 10 lead changes before the final barrage by the Pioneers. The Pioneers held the Trappers without a field goal over the final 3 minutes and Ray Daniels (6'6 Freshman) hit a 3-pointer that gave the Pioneers a 74-73 lead with 36 seconds to play. Two defensive stops in a row and the 2 free throws each by Eli Habighorst (6'1 Freshman) and Blessing Adesipe (6'6 Freshman) accounted for the final points.
Adesipe scored 23 points (7-12 FG, 1-3 3's, 8-8 FT) and grabbed a team high 10 rebounds and added 3 assists to lead the way for MCC. Daniels added 19 points (7-13 FG, 2-3 3's, 3-5 FT) and 7 rebounds while Paul Gakmar (6'7 Freshman) added 10 points (4-4 FG, 2-4 FT) and 8 rebounds.
Northwest College was led by Juan Pablo Camargo (6'8 Freshman) with 16 points (7-10 FG, 2-2 FT) and 7 rebounds. Gabriel Gutierrez had 15 points (6-14 FG, 1-4 3's, 2-2 FG) and 8 rebounds while Alex Avila (6'5 Freshman) came off the bench to have 11 rebounds.
