Western Wyoming showed why they are undefeated at 13-0 on the 2021-22 season with a bit 2nd half run after a close 1st half in which the Mustangs led by only 5. WWCC broke open a close game and then held on down the stretch for a 79-65 win over the MCC Pioneers on Saturday in Gillette, WY.
Azarien Stephens hit 4 3-point field goals in the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half to break open a close game and score 14 points (5-13, 4-8 3's). Dayne Prim came off the bench to score a team high 19 points (6-9 FG, 1-1 3's, 6-7 FT) and grabbed a team high 7 rebounds. Trever Trost also scored in double digits with 14 (6-13 FG, 1-5 3's, 1-1 FG) and added 5 rebounds. Andre Cruz also had 7 rebounds for the Mustangs.
Ray Daniels (Las Vegas, NV) led the Pioneers with 22 points (6-14 FG, 1-3 3's, 9-10 FT) and grabbed 4 rebounds. Eli Habighorst (Las Vegas, NV) had 13 points (4-7 FG, 1-2 3's, 4-5 FT) and also grabbed 4 rebounds. Kaleb Naylor (Zion, IL) scored 11 points (5-9 FG, 0-2 3's, 1-2 FT) off the bench for MCC. Blessing Adesipe (Houston, TX) led the PIoneers with 7 rebounds.
