Pioneer Men Can't Hang With League Leading NDSCS

The NDSCS thrived on the confines of their home gym as the Wildcats connected on 15-34 from the 3-point line and kept their undefeated season alive handing the Pioneers their 4th straight loss in a 100-64 win in Wahpeton, ND.

RaShaun Parker knocked down 8-10 from the 3-point line enroute to 24 points and backcourt mate Khari Broadway added 21 points (9-12 FG, 1-1 3's, 2-2 FT) as the Wildcats pulled away late in the first half and never looked back. The game went back and forth early on as there were 3 ties and 3 lead changed before the Wildcats went on a run midway thru the first half and pushed the lead to 19 at the half on a Parker 3-pointer at the buzzer. Connor Hollenbeck added 12 points (6-9 FG) while Noah Christensen led the team with 9 rebounds as all 12 Wildcats in uniform grabbed at least 2 rebounds. NDSCS outrebounded the Pioneers 55-37 for the game and included 24 offensive boards.

A poor shooting performance by the Pioneers hindered the team again as they hit only 23-68 FG (34%) and 5-18 3's (28%). Blessing Adesipe (Houston, TX) had 21 points (8-13 FG, 1-2 3's, 5-6 FT) and added 5 rebounds. Frontcourt mate Paul Gakmar (Perth, Australia) was the only other Pioneer in double figures with 15 points (6-12 FG, 3-4 FT) and completed a double-double with 10 rebounds.

The Pioneers fell to 1-5 in MonDak Conference play, 2-6 overall and will face Bismarck State in Bismarck, ND on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 PM MST. The Wildcats are 6-0 in league play and 8-0 overall.
