Game 1 - Pioneers 10... Lake Region State 7

Dane Gilbert (1B - Monument, CO) homered and drove in 4 runs and Lee Neugebauer (P - Rapid City, SD) gave up just 1 run in 5 innings (4 H, R, BB, 7 SO) and the Pioneers held on for a 10-7 win in game 1 on Saturday in Miles City, MT. 

The Pioneers built a 10-1 lead and then watched the Royals score 6 runs in the 6th inning to close the gap but were able to hold on. 

MCC scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning.  Chase Carnahan (2B - Fallon, NV) walked and the Pioneers got a single from Liam Sullivan (CF - Great Falls, MT). Chance Descalchuk (DH - Regina, Saskatchewan) ripped a double to drive in 2 runs. Descalchuk then stole 3rd and scored on a overthrow to left field by the catcher. 

After a quiet 2nd inning, MCC scored 2 in the 3rd. Descalchuk was hit by a pitch and advanced to 2nd on a ground out. With 2 outs, Holden Christensen (C - Casper, WY) doubled to drive in a run. 3 consecutive walks by the Pioneers scored another run. 

MCC got 3 more runs in the 4th inning as Sullivan led the inning off with a double and Ethan Forrest (LF - Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) walked. Gilbert then crushed a home run to left field to put the Pioneers up 8-0. LRSC scored a run in the 5th inning and MCC got 2 more in the bottom of the 5th. 

Sullivan was the only Pioneer with multiple hits. 

Croyden Christensen (Kaysville, UT) pitched 0.1 innings (2 R, 5 R, 3 ER, 2 HBP) and Ethan Evan (Sheridan, WY) pitched 0.2 innings (R, 2 BB, SO). Eli Kelley (Rapid City, SD) finished the 7th inning (2 SO) for the save.

Game 2 - Pioneers 13... Lake Region State 3 (5 Innings)

All 9 Pioneers that batted got a hit and the Pioneers walked off the Royals with a 2 RBI single from Chance Descalchuk in a 13-3 win in game 2. 

MCC got on the board first with 2 runs in the 2nd inning. Dane Gilbert singled and Anthony Williams (C - Billings, MT) doubled to put runners on 2nd and 3rd. Chaise Tracy (3B - Billings, MT) walked to load the bases. Cooper Wilson (RF - Sydney, Australia) hit a sacrifice fly RBI for the 1st run. Chase Carnahan walked to load the bases again and Liam Sullivan was hit by a pitch to score a run. 

LRSC got a run in the top of the 3rd but MCC answered with 6 runs in the bottom of the inning. Ethan Forrest led off the inning with a triple and Dane Gilbert cracked his 2nd home run of the day. Williams walked and Tracey doubled to put runners on 2nd and 3rd. Luke Thorne (SS - Missoula, MT) then hit a sacrifice fly RBI. Wilson singled to drive in Tracy and Wilson stole 2nd. Sullivan hit a RBI single followed by a Descalchuk RBI double and MCC led 8-1. 

Lake Region got 1 run again in the 4th inning and MCC added 2 in the bottom of the 4th. Tracy was hit by a pitch and Thorne hit a RBI double. Thorne eventually scored on a wild pitch. 

The Royals got 1 more run in the 5th but MCC was able to walk off the Royals with 3 runs in the bottom of the 5th. Back to back walks followed by a RBI single from Chase Carnahan made the score 11-3 before the Descalchuk walk off single. 

Decalchuk was 3-4 (3 RBI) at the plate and Gilbert was 2-3 (2 RBI, 2 R). Sullivan, Thorne, and Wilson each had 2 RBI.

Dominic Johnatakis (Syracuse, UT) pitched 4.2 innings (5 H, 3 R, 4 BB, 2 SO) and Ryan Kelly (Miles City, MT) pitched to 2 batters (BB, SO).

MCC is now 22-13 overall and 8-2 in MonDak Conference play. The teams will play another doubleheader on Sunday in Miles City with 1st pitch at 12:00 PM.
