MCC's Perry Signs With Regis University

(Denver) – Longtime Regis Men's Head Basketball Coach Lonnie Porter has announced the signing of Ben Perry (Canberra, Australia) to the roster for the upcoming 2010-11 season. The Rangers went 8-19 last season and looking to improve after a down season for Regis.

Coming all the way from Australia to join the Rangers is Ben Perry who is transferring from Miles Community College. A 2007 graduate from Lake Ginninderra High School, Perry averaged 23.8 ppg and eight rpg in high school. Then in 2008-09, he was named to the Mon-Dak All-Academic Team while at Miles Community College. The 6-4 junior forward averaged 9.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game last season at Miles CC.

During the summer, Perry will head home and play for the ACT Men’s Premier League during the summer before heading to Regis for his junior season.

Regis is a school with 16,000 students based in Denver that competes in the NCAA’s Division II and is part of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

Miles Community College finished the year 15-17 and a berth into the Region IX Tournament quarterfinals.
