The Pioneers showed up in Casper on Wednesday night ready to play. Casper’s largest lead of 7 came in the first half and after that the Pioneers took control. MCC shot the ball as well as they have all year and after building their lead to 18 in the second half, they stole the victory from the Thunderbirds 71-62. Coach Chase Tait commented on the victory, “This was a great win for our guys. I can see the confidence rising and they are really starting to believe in each other. It is hard to win on the road and to go in to Casper and get a win shows the toughness and resiliency that our guys are playing with. I believe that is our first win in Casper in as long as anyone can remember. We moved the ball really well, hit some big shots, and really rebounded well. I was just a great team win.”
Gavin Gundlach was the high scorer with 16 points. Perion Little and Erie Olonade each added 15 and Andrea LoBiondo had a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
The Pioneers look to keep their momentum as they take on Sheridan College on Saturday, February 10 at 4:00 pm in the Kailey Gymnasium.
