The Pioneers continued their winning streak Friday night against the Tetons of Williston State College. Prior to the break, the women were on a roll with an 11 game win streak that they were looking to continue.
The Pioneers had control of the game from start to finish. Once they got going, they never looked back. The Pioneers had 5 players in double digits, Patricjya Jaworska (20), Paula Rosello-Mateu (14), Marina Peinado-Balaguer (11), Kyra Fleharty (10), and Kylee Meredith (10). The Pioneers bested the Tetons 90-54.
Coach Nate Vogel commented on his team’s success, “We are very excited about our start to the season (14-2), but understand things get significantly more difficult in Region play. We look forward to the challenge and are excited to see how we stack up against the rest of Region IX.” Region play starts this week in Gillette, WY.
Coach Nate Vogel is proud of his team on and off the court. “I’m so thankful I have players who play so well together. They never played a second with each other before showing up on campus this fall, but have shown a willingness to put their teammates first both on and off the court. Their willingness to serve each other and their community is something I take much more pride in than our record. We are a family and it shows on the court.”
The Pioneers start Region play Wednesday, January 10 at 5:30pm at Gillette College.
