The Pioneers had one last road trip before they could head home for the Holiday break. Friday, December 15, the Women headed south to Gillette, WY to take on the Centurions of Yellowstone Christian College. The Pioneers defense was impressive, forcing 52 turnovers, which they were easily able to convert into baskets. They also shot very well from 3 once again, shooting 39% from behind the arc. The Pioneers took the easy victory 98-41.
Paula Rosello Mateu and Dakota Dosch were with high scorers with 18 apiece. Patrycja Jaworska contributed 16 in the effort.
Saturday, the Pioneers took on the Colorado Springs Ballers and came away with another victory, beating the Ballers 89-54. Coach Nate Vogel was happy with how his team performed over the weekend. “I really love my team. I am very fortunate to have the players that I have on this team. Great basketball players, even better people. We are off to one of the best starts in school history. Christmas break is a little bitter sweet. I am excited about the momentum this team has built and don’t want to take a break from that. However, this gives everyone a chance to spend some much-needed time with family and recharge the batteries. I’m excited to see what’s in store for this team next semester!”
The Pioneers are back in action January 5, 2018 when they take on Williston State at home at 5:30pm and 7:30pm.
