FLATHEAD STANDOUT TO JOIN LADY PIONEERS

(MILES CITY, MT.) Miles Community College basketball coach Liz Lewis has announced the signing of Kylee Meredith to a national letter of intent for the 2017-18 academic year.

Meredith, a 5-foot-6 guard from Kalispell, Montana, will graduate from Flathead High School on June 2nd, 2017. She was an Academic All-State 3 years in basketball and carried a 4.0 GPA for 5 semesters.

Meredith averaged 10.4 points per game while shooting just under 40% including 34% from 3 point. She also collected 3.8 rebounds and dished out 3.14 assists per game, and recorded 46 steals in 30 games.

Meredith was a 3 year starter at Flathead High School. She was awarded three Athlete of the Week honors as well as being selected as this year’s offensive MVP. Meredith also made 2nd team All-Conference this season as well as being the 2017 Hi-Line Invitational 3 Point Champion while playing under Tricia Samson-Dean.

Meredith was also a 4 year starter in Varsity Softball where she won Defensive MVP in 2016 as well as being selected as an All-State Honorable Mention the same season.

“Kylee will be a great addition to our team,” said MCC Head Coach Liz Lewis. “She’s a tough player with a tremendous work ethic. We look forward to seeing her in a Pioneer uniform this Fall.”

“I absolutely love Coach Lewis and Coach Rayback,” said Meredith. “From the minute I started talking to them I could really tell that they loved basketball and they truly wanted me to come play for them. I also really liked how they didn’t sugar coat anything with me. I know that playing for them isn’t going to be easy but that is why I am so excited; I am ready for the hard workouts and conditioning to come because I know it is going to be worth it. I also like that I am able to stay in state. I love Montana so much and being able to stay in the state I have spent my whole life is an added bonus.”
