(Scottsbluff, NE)- The Lady Pioneers entered the Region IX tournament as the # 7 seed from the North sub-region. In game one of the tournament, they came away with a 2 OT thrilling win over the Eastern Wyoming Lady Lancers, 71-66.

A back and forth grudge match, the teams saw themselves knotted up at 54-54 at the end of regulation. The first OT came to a draw with each team scoring nine points. The second overtime was all that the Pioneers need to win as they outscored EW 8-3.

Two Pioneers recorded double-doubles on the afternoon as Ivana Grbic (Belgrade, Serbia) netted a game high 26 points on 8-18 shooting from the field and 10-14 from the charity stripe. Game 2

(Scottsbluff, NE)- Gillette College prevailed over MCC in game 2 of the single elimination tournament, 65-48. The loss ended the season for the Pioneers, as they finished with a 17-15 record in head coach Cathy Hanek’s inaugural season.
