Women close out season with 2 wins

Region IX conference tournament begins March 3rd

(Miles City, MT)- The #2 ranked (Region IX North Sub-region) Western Wyoming Lady Mustangs came to Miles City on Friday night in hopes of securing a top spot in the conference tournament next week. It came into question when the Lady Pioneers of Miles Community college knocked them off, 86-81.

MCC held a 72-64 advantage with 4:02 remaining and withstood a barrage of 3 pt. shots from WWU to win. The Mustangs made 10 three point shots alone in the second half and drained 12 in all from long distance.

Tessa Rouane (Columbus, MT) led the way with 20 points, 5 boards, and 3 steals. Ivana Grbic (Belgrade, Serbia) chipped in 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 9 assists. Taylor Lepley (Shepherd, MT) added 14 points and Tess Blaquiere (Miles City, MT) scored 14 points off the bench.

The win marked the biggest win of the season thus far for MCC and propels them into the Region IX conference tournament next week in Scottsbluff, NE.

(Crow Agency, MT)- The Miles Community College women’s basketball team closed out the regular season on Saturday night defeating the Little Big Horn Lady Rams, 74-69.

Next up for MCC will be the Region IX conference tournament March 3-7, where they will participate as the #7 seed from the North. They will face the #2 Eastern Wyoming Lady Lancers @ 3:00 pm on Sunday March 3rd from Scottsbluff, NE. Stay tuned for post season coverage and live links of the tournament.
