Women's Basketball Falls to Sheridan on the Road

Miles City, MT) – The Miles Community College women’s basketball team came out of the Golden Dome in Sheridan, Wyoming with a loss last night.  The Lady Pioneers were defeated by the home team 77-67 to drop to 19-8 overall and 7-6 in the North sub-region. 

In the women’s game, Miles hung with the Lady Generals throughout the first half, trailing 38-36 at the intermission.  MCC outshot Sheridan 48 percent (12-of-25) to 40 percent (15-of-38) in the opening period. 

The second half saw the flip side as the Lady Pioneers managed to shoot just 37 percent while being outscored by 10 in the period. 

For the contest, MCC was outrebounded 49-26 by the Lady Generals.  Out of the 49 rebounds for Sheridan, 21 of them came on the offensive end. 

Miles Community College was led by Bailey Wilson (Columbus) with 16 points and Madara Laure (Riga, Latvia) added 11 points in the loss.  Ivana Grbic (Belgrade, Serbia) and Christen Lopez (West Jordan, UT) pulled down seven and five rebounds, respectively. 

Up next for MCC is their home finale of 2012 with a matchup against Little Big Horn College Saturday afternoon.  The game will tip off at 3:00 PM with recognition to the sophomores for their service to Pioneer basketball prior to starting lineups.
