
Pioneers Finish 4th Behind Universities

(Miles City, MT) – The Miles Community College rodeo team hosted their annual MCC Stampede this past weekend at the Eastern Montana Fairgrounds. The University of Montana – Western swept both team titles with Montana State University finishing second on the men’s side and third on the women’s side. The University of Montana earned a second place finish in the women’s competition and third in the men’s. The Pioneers finished fourth on the men’s side and didn’t post a team score on the women’s competition.
Miles was led by a pair of first place finishes, Justin Miller (Billings) picked up the bareback title with 138 points. Andrew Smith won the bull riding with 143 points as he was the only one that stayed on two bulls over the weekend. Dillon Schroth (Buffalo Gap, SD) earned a third place finish in the saddle bronc event.
On the women’s side, freshman Breanna Roberts finished seventh in goat tying.
Up next for the rodeo teams is a trip to Dillon for the University of Montana – Western rodeo, the final one of the fall semester.
