Miles Community College's Jansone Named to All-American Team

Sophomore wing named honorable mention

(Miles City, MT) – Miles Community College’s Ieva Jansone (Riga, Latvia) was just named to the National Junior College Athletic Association’s (NJCAA) All-American team.  The 6’ 0” sophomore averaged 16.7 points  and over five rebounds per contest this season to earn herself honorable mention honors.  She finished the year shooting 46 percent from the floor for the Lady Pioneers.  She also added 106 steals, averaging 3.3 per game.  She scored a team-high 29 points against North Dakota State College of Science earlier this season.

Jansone led MCC to a 25-7 overall record, including a sweep of the Mon/Dak Conference with a perfect 14-0 record.  The team finished second in the Region IX North sub-region and defeated Lamar Community College in the first round of the Region IX Tournament.  MCC ended their season with an overtime loss to Western Nebraska Community College in the tournament quarterfinals.

The sophomore is still undecided, despite several NCAA offers to where she will look to continue her playing career.
