(Miles City, MT) -- The Miles Community College Pioneers picked up a Region IX North Sub-Region win against Little Big Horn College (Crow Agency) at home tonight.  The home game was the first since the opening week of the season as they traveled throughout North Dakota and Wyoming before returning home tonight.  The women's team defeated the Lady Rams 66-49 and improves to 8-3 overall and 1-0 in the Region IX North sub-region. 

In the opening game of the night, Miles Community College battled the Lady Rams throughout the first 15 minutes of the first half before starting to stretch the lead out to 34-24 going into the break.  The game featured nine lead changes and six ties before going on a 15-5 run to close the half. 

The second half was nearly a mirror image of the first half before the Lady Pioneers sealed the 17-point win despite turning the ball over 17 times in the contest.  The defense of MCC held Little Big Horn to under 38 percent from the floor and forced 16 turnovers. 

Ivana Domljanovic (Split, Croatia), a 6-2 forward, led MCC with a double-double.  Her size towered over the Lady Rams as she scored 22 points and pulled down 16 rebounds.  She finished the night shooting 8-of-14 from the floor and 6-of-6 from the free throw line. 

Freshman Kassie Barta (Fairfield) scored 14 points off the bench for head coach Lindsay Woolley.  Point guard Christen Lopez (West Jordan, UT) handed out a team-high seven assists in contest.

Both teams struggled beyond the three-point line, but MCC was able to outscore the Lady Rams 18-6 from past the arc.  LBHC was held to 2-of-12 while MCC shot 6-of-22. 

Miles Community College will host United Tribes Technical College tomorrow (Friday) night to wrap up the fall semester and head into the holiday break.  The women will tip off at 5:30 PM.
