MCC Women Fall at Casper College 72-58 -- MCC has three in double digits

(Miles City, MT) -- Miles Community College fell to Casper College, the host school of the Pizza Hut Invitational, 72-58. Besides being the host school, Casper was led by head coach Dwight Gunnare, former head coach of the Lady Pioneers.

The Lady Pioneers were hurt by a poor shooting performance in the first half, hitting just 25% (6-24) from the field, Casper wasn't much better hitting only 31% (12-38). Casper College took a 37-21 lead into the intermission, the Lady Pioneers were able to stay even in the second half, before falling by 14 to the 25th ranked Lady T-Birds. Miles was led sophomore Beata Bak (Poland) with 14 points and seven rebounds in the contest. Kristen Brady (Lame Deer) scored 13, while freshman Dale Samuels (Denver) added 12 on the night.

In a game where both teams committed over 25 turnovers, MCC ended up with 30 which turned into 28 points for Casper. The Lady Pioneers scored 23 points off of the 27 turnovers by Casper. Miles (3-2) will face the College of Eastern Utah in day two of the Pizza Hut Invitational in Casper.
