PIONEERS ONE STEP CLOSER TO POSTSEASON PLAY

Game 1

(Miles City, MT) In a series of “must win” games for the Pioneers, the first game went to MCC. The Pioneers were able to shutout the Cougars in a 2-0 victory.

Pitcher, Parker McRae had a great game for the Pioneers. He pitched seven innings, allowed five hits, zero runs, and struck out five.

Steven Reinig, Kolton Bleggi, and Mason Baker led the Pioneers in hits with one each. MCC committed no errors in the field. Bleggi had the most chances with ten.

Game 2

The Pioneers took an early lead in the second game of the doubleheader and were able to hold on, despite a late push by the Cougars. MCC got the victory 13-8.

Jonathan Ringer was the winning pitcher for the Pioneers. He pitched 5 and one-third innings, allowed three runs on three hits and struck out eight. Mitch Hughson and Logan DeCock came into the game out of the bullpen in relief and to close out the game.

The Pioneers had ten hits in the game. James Martin and Mason Baker each had two hits to lead the Pioneers.

“Again, we won two games in completely different fashions,” commented coach Jeff Brabant. “Parker was fantastic in game one and Jon bounced back nicely from his last outing in Otero. We've got work to do tomorrow and every pitch matters. School is done, just baseball. Best time of the year!”

The Pioneers will return to their home field tomorrow for a doubleheader against the Cougars starting at 2:00 pm.
