Game 1

(Sterling, CO) The MCC baseball team dropped both games of Saturday’s doubleheader with Northeastern Junior College. There wasn’t a lot of offense for the Pioneers in the first game, and MCC was shutout 0-5.

Jordan Thomson, Kolton Bleggi, and Will Riley each had one hit to lead the team in hitting. MCC didn’t commit any errors in the field.

Parker McRae got the loss for the Pioneers. He allowed nine hits and five runs across six innings. He struck out three and walked zero.

Game 2

The second game of the day was a better performance for the Pioneers, however, the Plainsmen were still too much for MCC. The Pioneers fell to Northeastern 3-5.

Will Riley was the hitting leader for the Pioneers going 2-for-4 at the plate. Not a single error was committed in the field. Jordan Thomson had the most chances in the field with six.

Jonathan Ringer took the loss on the pitchers mound. He allowed eleven hits and five runs over five innings. He struck out six and walked one.

“We haven’t played in three weeks and have had only three practices outside in that time and it looked like it today,” commented head coach Jeff Brabant. “We have another opportunity to get better tomorrow.”

The Pioneers will take on the Plainsmen of Northeastern Junior College again tomorrow for a doubleheader starting at 12:00 pm.
