(Miles City, MT) The Miles Community College men’s basketball team has announced that Akok Kuany will be joining the Pioneers for the 2018-2019 season.

Kuany is a 6’6” forward from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He attended and played his high school basketball at St. Kevin’s College/ Toorak in Victoria, Australia.

In 2016, Kuany was named runner-up team MVP and was a member of the All-Conference Reserve Team. Kuany has previously been a member of the Sunshine Longhorns and the Waverley Falcons.

Akok is the son of Amier Tniep Akot and Ngor Ngor Kuany of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He is a 2016 graduate of St. Kevin’s College/ Toorak in Victoria, Australia.

While at MCC, Kuany plans to work towards a degree in Business.

Akok on choosing MCC: “I feel that Miles Community College, with Coach Tait, will be the perfect place for me to improve as a basketball player and as a student. I also look forward to the small town feel and being away from the city-life and all of the distractions. Miles City offers me this and a whole lot more. I’m very excited to commit to MCC and I can’t wait until I’m on campus.”
