PIONEERS END REGULAR SEASON ON A HIGH NOTE

The Pioneers met the Rams of Little Big Horn College on Saturday evening for their last home game of the season. MCC shot the ball well from the beginning, shooting 54.9% for the game. The Pioneers took a 7 point lead into the locker room, but pulled away in the second half with a final score of 122-99. Coach Chase Tait commented on the victory, “I am happy with how we played the month of February. Our guys really competed and battled out of the bad spot we got ourselves into in January. We played well tonight offensively and shot the ball well with balanced scoring, but we have to take care of the ball better. We are looking forward to the playoff game next Saturday in Gillette.”

Perion Little was the high scorer with 26 points. Gavin Gundlach added 23 and Erie Olonade contributed 22 to the effort. Andrea LoBiondo and Johnathan Tchuisse led the team in rebounding with 9 apiece.

The Pioneers head to Gillette, WY on Saturday, March 3 to take on the Pronghorns in the first game of the playoffs.
