Basketball (W)

The Pioneers looked to continue their winning ways Thursday night vs Western WY. MCC got off to a very rough start with a disappointing first quarter of play. Play got a little better in the second quarter and the Pioneers took a 39-27 lead into the half. The Pioneers offense exploded in the second half as they scored 38 points in the 3rd quarter alone. The Pioneers ran away with the victory 83-53. Coach Nate Vogel was happy with the win and the continued crowd support, “Our game against Western Wyoming was a rollercoaster of execution. The first quarter was as poorly as we’ve played in a while. However, the 3rd quarter was about as good as we’ve played all year. We were able to extend our lead with a number of 3 pointers. This was the 2nd game in a row we were able to force over 30 turnovers. I loved our intensity throughout the game. We need to work on executing more consistently moving forward.

A huge thanks again to all the fans. Our team feeds of your enthusiasm. We really appreciate your support!”

Kyra Fleharty was the high scorer with 15 points, followed closely by Dakota Dosch with 14 points.

The Pioneers will be in action again tomorrow at 2:00 pm in the Kailey Gymnasium against Central Wyoming.
