The Pioneers traveled to Sheridan, WY Wednesday evening to take on the Generals of Sheridan College. Coming off of two tough losses, the Pioneers were ready for a win. The Pioneers took control of the game early in the first half of play and took a double-digit lead into half-time. The Generals fought back in the second half and cut the lead to only 10 at one point. Good free throw shooting got the Pioneers back on track to pull away from the Generals for good and take the win 76-59.

Coach Nate Vogel was happy about the win, “We were excited to play and get back on track. We had a great first half and were able to hold on in the 2nd half. As always, our defense dictated how the game went. We forced 28 turnovers that led to some easy buckets. When we play good defense, we always put ourselves in a position to win. We have a bunch of talented scorers, if we combine that with great defense, we are a special team.”

Patrycja Jaworska was the high scorer with 15 points, followed closely by Paula Rosello with 14 and Bre Moea’i with 12.

The Pioneers are on the road again Saturday, as they travel to Powell, WY to take on the Trappers of Northwest College.
