The Pioneers traveled to Gillette, WY to participate in the M & M Oilfield Thanksgiving Classic over the weekend. Friday night MCC had a rematch against the Thunderbirds of United Tribes Technical College. The Thunderbirds came into the tournament on a role, riding a 7 game win streak. Their momentum and fast paced offense was too much for the Pioneers to handle as MCC fell to UTTC 102-109.

Erie Olonade was the top scorer for the Pioneers with 24 points. Andrea LoBiondo contributed 19 and Johnathan Tchuisse added a double double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Saturday the Pioneers took on the Royals from Lake Region State College. The Royals were on a roll in the first half, scoring 13 times from beyond the 3 point line. The Pioneers rallied back in the second half to cut the lead to 8 at one point. Lake Region was too much for the Pioneers to handle and their rally fell short. The Royals topped the Pioneers 114-105.

Perion Little (28) and Erie Olonade (22) were the top scorers. Andrea LoBiondo added a double double with 19 points and 13 rebounds.

When asked about the weekend, Coach Chase Tait commented; "I have never seen two teams shoot the ball in the 1st half like the teams did this weekend. Our defense has to improve."

MCC will be on the road again this weekend as they head to Bismarck to take on Bismarck State on Friday, December 1 at 7:00pm and United Tribes Technical College on Saturday, December 2 at 1:00pm.
