The Pioneers hosted the Foundation Classic this weekend at the Kailey Gymnasium. Friday night MCC took on the Tetons from Williston State College. The Pioneers were hot early, taking an 18 point lead into half time. The start of the second half saw the men squander that lead as the Tetons rallied back to take the lead. The Pioneers proved too much for Williston State, however, as MCC regained the lead and never looked back. The Pioneers bested the Tetons 97-78. "I thought our game against Williston was a make or break game in terms of creating a positive atmosphere moving forward. Our guys really stepped up, competed, and set a great tone from the beginning. It felt good to see our guys compete at the level they are capable of;" coach Chase Tait commented after the game.

Perion Little and Erie Olonade were the high scorers with 27 a piece. Andrea LoBiondo recorded a double-double for the Pioneers with 20 points and 12 rebounds.

Saturday the Pioneers hosted Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College. MCC took the lead from the beginning and never looked back, beating the Storm 105-70. Six Pioneers scored in double digits:  Erie Olonade (17), Perion Little (14), Andrea LoBionda (13), Evan Harrell (12), Jon Tchuisse (11) and Gavin Gundlach (11).

Coach Chase Tait commented on the weekend, "We hadn't competed to our capabilities in our 2 prior games and we suffered a couple of disappointing losses against Dakota College and Dawson. It was nice to get 2 wins on the weekend as we had not done that yet this season."

Next the Pioneers are on the road to Gillette, WY with a game Friday, November 24th at 5:30pm again United Tribes and Saturday, November 25th at 3:00pm against Lake Region State College.
