MCC's Coach Vogel Signs Seven and Secures Returner

Miles Community College’s new head women’s basketball coach, Nate Vogel, is excited to announce seven new signees to the women’s team and a securing of a returning player for this upcoming season. In his first few weeks of being hired, filling the team has been his top priority as he prepares for the 2017-2018 season.

Kyra Fleharty, 5’11 – Lewistown, MT

After leaving at the end of last year, Kyra decided to come back for her second year at MCC. Kyra says, “I decided to come back because I loved the professors and the small college atmosphere. I was very impressed with Coach Vogel and am excited to be able to stay close to family.” Kyra averaged 8.5 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game, was 38.8% from the field, and had 7 double-doubles last season. She also made the 2017 Region IX All-Tournament Team after averaging a double-double in the Region IX tournament.

Jenicca Tamura, 5’6 - Kihei, HI

Coach Vogel says, “Jenicca was highly sought after coming out of high school so I feel very fortunate to have her on our team. She is a quick guard who can play multiple positions. She will be another player who can shoot the ‘3’ for us.”

Klaudija Bacovic, 6’1 – Belgrade, Serbia

Klaudija is a member of the Montenegro National Team where she has played against quality international competition. Coach Vogel states, “She is a long, athletic player with great post moves. She is also able to step out and shoot the ‘3’ which will help us space the floor really well.”

Marina Peinado Balaguer, 5’7 - Mataro, Spain

“Marina is a shooting guard transferring from South Georgia Tech College (SGTC),” says Coach Vogel. “Marina is a big time three point marksman who can also handle point guard duties.” SGTC won the Region XVII championship and advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NJCAA Division I national tournament this past season.

Patrycja Jaworska, 5’6 – Wroclaw, Poland

Coach Vogel says of Patrycja, “Patrycja is a stud guard! She can play both the point and the shooting guard. What an amazing addition to the MCC family!” Patrycja plays in the top league in Poland and has played in two European Championship Tournaments. She was also invited to attend the Polish National Team Camp.

Paula Rosello Mateu, 5’7 – Barcelona, Spain

“Paula plays in the top division in Spain,” says Coach Vogel. “She is a fearless long range shooter who plays with a lot of confidence. She wants the ball when the clock is running out!” Paula says, “My life turned upside down when I was offered the opportunity to play in the USA. I plan to study business.”

Laura Moya, 5’7 – Barcelona, Spain

Coach Vogel says, “Laura is a slashing guard who can really get to the rim. She will also be able to apply great defensive pressure to the opposing team’s guards. Laura has an infectious personality. She is absolutely loved by her teammates and we couldn’t be more excited to bring Laura to MCC.” Laura plays in the top division in Spain.

Vedrana Radosavljevic, 6’1 – from the city of Pale in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Vedrana will attend MCC after playing at the top level in Bosnia where her team won the league title. Coach Vogel says, “Vedrana is an athletic post player with a great mid-range game. She is comfortable shooting the 3 so can play multiple positions. I am very excited to see how teams deal with her versatility.”
