MCC Men's Basketball sign Spearfish Guard

Miles Community College (MCC) Basketball Coach Chase Tait continues to reload his backcourt for the 2017-2018 season.

The Pioneers announced Thursday the signing of 6-foot-3 guard Jaxon Hinch who previously had competed in track and field at the University of Nebraska after being a standout athlete at Spearfish High School in Spearfish, South Dakota.

On top of being an outstanding Track and Field athlete, Hinch excelled on the hardwood in basketball as well. In his senior season at Spearfish High School Jaxon averaged 18 points per game with 3 assists and 5 rebounds. He was a major contributor on a team that won the conference championship twice while he was there. In his Junior and Senior campaigns, Hinch, was selected as an All-Conference Basketball player. After being named Captain in his senior year he went on to win Offensive MVP. Hinch was also a two-time state champion in track and field in the High Jump.

“I attended the University of Nebraska and did track but I missed playing basketball because it was my passion.” Said Jaxon Hinch. “I chose to attend MCC because I liked the program and the staff and I think they can prepare me for the next level.”

Jaxon Hinch will major in Business Management while at MCC.
