MCC Hosts Inaugural Rodeo in New Ag Advancement Center

Foulger and Lamphere finish first

(Miles City, MT) The Miles Community College rodeo teams hosted their first rodeo of the season on Saturday and Sunday. The event marked the first rodeo to be held at the new Ag Advancement Center in Miles City.

The event marked the first indoor rodeo in Miles City history.

“It was an outstanding success,” said head coach Wally Badgett.

A standing room only crowd was as coach Badgett would describe, “The biggest crowd I’ve ever seen at a college rodeo here.”

Despite the large home town crowd, the Pioneers couldn’t find a footing in the team standings but did see some light from Sophomore Wyatt Foulger and freshman Jayci Lamphere.

Foulder finished first place in tie-down Roping with an impressive time of 20.1 seconds. Jayci Lamphere would finish at just six seconds over the two days of competition to take the top spot in the breakaway.

The first place finishes by Foulger and Lamphere marked their highest finishes of the Spring rodeo season.

After the long week, MCC will be back to the grindstone as both the men’s and women’s teams head to the University of Montana’s annual rodeo on Friday and Saturday hosted in Missoula.
