MCC Pioneers Thrive in the Classroom

(Miles City, MT) Miles Community College Athletic Director’s, Jeff Brabant and Chase Tait, have announced the team GPA’s for the Fall semester.

The term student/athlete at MCC held its merit last semester. The over 75 student/athletes on campus which compete in eight intercollegiate athletic events, were able to achieve an average GPA of over 3.0 as an athletic department.

“This is something special. It doesn’t happen very often and as far as I know, this is the first time in over a decade that the entire department has been above a 3.0.” Said head baseball coach, Jeff Brabant.

The GPA collective average includes athletes from men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s rodeo, men’s and women’s golf, and baseball.

“We always tell our guys to set goals, not only on the field but in the classroom. It is a proud moment as a coach when you see that your team has taken pride in taking care of business in the classroom. That kind of stuff is why I coach. I know I speak for the entire coaching staff at MCC when I say that on field success is important, but not as important as getting every Pioneer that steps foot on campus onto a path towards success in life,” said Jeff Brabant.
