American Fork Standout Joins MCC

(Miles City, MT) Miles Community College head basketball coach Liz Lewis has announced the signing of Colleen Suliana Katoa, from American Fork, Utah for the 2016-2017 season.

Colleen Katoa-5’10” - G/PF, American Fork High School

Colleen is the daughter of Samiu and Angia Katoa.

Katoa, outside of an impressive basketball resume has excelled in the classroom and in extracurricular activities throughout her career. She had multiple stints on the American Fork Honor Roll and also participated in the school's science club. Colleen was also an advocate of a program called Be the Change.

On the basketball court, Katoa flourished under head coach Corey Clayton. She was an honorable mention for the All-Region and All Valley teams and was also named to the Utah 5A Senior All Star Team. Throughout her career at American Fork Colleen contributed to two Region Championships and also three State Tournament appearances.

While at MCC, Colleen plans to major in Social Work. On Why Katoa picked MCC: “MCC is an uplifting environment and will provide me with great opportunities down the road.”
