Lady P's pound Little Big Horn

(Crow Agency, MT) On Saturday, the Lady Pioneers traveled to Crow Agency, MT to take on Little Big Horn College for their last regular season game. In their last meeting the Lady P’s beat Lady Rams 91-46, and were looking to continue their success against LBHC.

The Lady Pioneers had a great shooting performance on Saturday, against the Lady Rams, as they shot 53.8% from the field in the game going (35-65). The Lady P’s had a slow game from 3-pt range, as they only shot 25% from behind the arch. Defensively, MCC played an excellent game as they held the Lady Rams to only 54 points in the game. Miles only allowed Little Big Horn to make 19-of-47 shots to go in. MCC outscored LBHC in both halves of the game, in the 1st half the score was 49-28, and the difference in the second half was 38-26. The final score of the game was 87-54, with the Lady Pioneers on top. The Lady P’s outdueled the Lady Ram’s in several team statistics such as, Rebounds (35-16), Assists (18-9), and they had less turnovers (19-29).

The Lady P’s had 5 players score in double digit figures. Freshman Forward, Savannah Weidauer led the team with 15 points on (7-of-13) shooting from the field, and she also grabbed 8 rebounds. Makiya Givens, added 13 points on (6-of-9) shooting, and she also had 5 steals for MCC. Chelsey Borden put up 11 points on (4-of-8) shooting from the field, and Borden also dished out 7 assists. Theresa Mac-Dangosu scored 10 points on a perfect shooting night going (5-for-5) from the field. Lacey Waid added 10 points on (2-of-5) shooting from 3-pt range, and she also grabbed 8 boards for the Lady P’s.

The Lady Pioneers finish their season with a (12-18) overall record, and a (4-8) record in conference play. The Lady P’s are set to face off against McCook Community College in the 1st round of the Region IX Tournament, on March 1st, 2016 at 5pm in Gillette, WY.
