Miles CC falls to #7 CSI, race past Chukars

(Twin Falls, ID) After leading 42-41 at the break, Miles CC witnessed the #7 nationally ranked College of Southern Idaho Lady Eagles storm back with a 81-71 victory over the Lady Pioneers Friday evening in Twin Falls, ID. Miles CC responded back with an impressive 93-65 win Saturday evening over Treasure Valley Community College.

CSI 81, MCC 71

CSI received 41 points from their bench while shooting 45% from the field and 40% from 3 pt. range in route to the non-league and non-conference victory. The Lady Pioneers won the rebounding war 48-44, and shot 54% from the charity stripe compared to CSI's 50%.

MCC received 20 points and 11 rebounds from leading scorer Jaycin Tini. Sophomore Petra Lumpert chipped in 19 points. Freshman Kayla Torio added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the loss, dropping the Pioneers record to 6-4 on the year.

MCC 93, TVCC 65

In a game that witnessed 8 ties and 11 lead changes, MCC pulled away in the 2nd half outscoring the Chukars 44-24 for the non-conference victory.

The Pioneers took advantage of 27 Chukar turnovers converting them into 25 points, and eventually building a 28 point lead. MCC shot 45% from the field and 44% from 3 pt. range.

Freshman guard Kayla Torio poured in a career and game high 28 points, while snagging 7 rebounds and dishing out 5 assists. She connected on 5-7 from three point range. Shelby Weeks added 20 points and 7 rebounds, while Lumpert chipped in 18 points and 6 assists. Sophomore Jaycin Tini scored 12 points and grabbed 8 rebounds as the the Pioneers improved their record to 7-4.

MCC hits the road for another tournament as they visit Bismarck, ND to play United Tribes Technical College and Bismarck State College December 5-6.
